Yorkshire Biewer – PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur)
This tricolored dog will steal your heart!
The Biewer Yorkshire Terrier is a small dog breed that is very rare in France.
This breed, created in 1984 in Germany, has been slowly gaining traction in Europe thanks to dedicated enthusiasts who aim to produce beautiful and easygoing little companions.
History
Mr. and Mrs. Biewer, German breeders, discovered a puppy with a striking white coat in a litter of Yorkshire Terriers. Intrigued by this anomaly and enchanted by the puppy's tricolored coat, they explored the possibility of a recessive piebald gene mutation in their breeding lines. They embarked on a selection process that allowed them to create, in 1984, a small dog that exhibited all the characteristics of the Yorkshire Terrier but in three colors: blue, white, and gold.
This breed was finally recognized by the FCI and SCC at the beginning of 2024!
It is recognized in Germany, Russia, Eastern European countries, the USA, and Canada.
